Karen Kvrgic, P.T.
Karen graduated from the University of Toronto’s B.Sc. Physiotherapy Program in 1990. Karen has been practicing Orthopedic and Sport Physiotherapy for 33 years in a wide variety of settings including OHIP, home care, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation, and as Clinic Director at the Canadian Back Institute. Karen also adds many more years of experience through personal involvement and injury management, event coverage. At Physio FX, Karen treats a broad range of injuries such as lower back pain, sciatica, herniated disc syndromes, neck pain, pinched nerves, wry neck, TMJ, headaches, carpal tunnel, arthritis management, sports injuries, postural misalignment, motor vehicle accident injuries,muscle strengthening & conditioning, and more!

In 2004 she opened the doors at Physio FX with a vision of a multidisciplinary facility that remembers what customer service & client centered care really means. Karen’s clinical philosophy centers on educating her clients. Her goal is to get her clients actively involved in the “feeling better” process by clearly communicating the mechanics underlying the injuries and providing the knowledge to fix and prevent future problems. As Clinic Director, Karen fosters warm and personable relationships with everyone. She promotes an open, friendly, and casual atmosphere that we believe really makes a difference!

Joanna Luong, RMT
Joanna is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She completed her training in contemporary Acupuncture at McMaster University. She has numerous work experiences with many other physiotherapy clinics and has been trained in various forms of therapy; this includes Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Lymph Drainage, Hot Stone Massage, Relaxation and Deep Tissue Massage. Joanna is well-rounded in many different forms of naprapathy including cupping and acupressure. She strongly believes in proper posture and incorporating daily exercise into ones daily routine. Joanna is passionate about understanding her clients' needs when it comes to feeling better and curing problematic areas; she is consistently researching methods to better her knowledge in doing so.

Ryan Jamisola, RMT 
Ryan is  a Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic graduate registered with  the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and a member of the  Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario. An advocate of  continued education, Ryan constantly tries to better his skills through  studies as well as learning from experience. Through specialty clinics dealing with Multiple Sclerosis, Post Surgery at Toronto Western  Hospital, Pregnancy Clinic, Sports Clinic and Seniors Clinic at Loyola Arrupe, Ryan is confident in applying his knowledge in providing a  well-rounded and holistic approach in treating his clients. Ryan  emphasizes on stress reduction and the correction of postural  dysfunctions influenced by poor habits which manifest as day to day  aches and pains. He is very thorough and intuitive in identifying  problem areas and is passionate in providing self-care and client  education which he believes plays a significant role in the recovery. By utilizing various techniques such as Deep Tissue Treatment, Myofascial  Release, Trigger Point Treatment, Swedish Massage Techniques, and Hot  Stone as well as Hydrotherapy modalities, clients can be assured that  they are getting an effective high-quality treatment.
Kiara Mercury-Phillips, RMT 
​Kiara is a graduate of York University's Kinesiology program and Centennial College's Massage Therapy Program. Combining her love for dance and skirt she identifies with the needs for athletes to be the best in their competition by having the proper recovery and maintenance with massage therapy. Kiara has completed sport, hospital DJ rehabilitative outreaches at Toronto Pan Am sports Centre, Scarborough General Hospital and Variety Village. Kiara's most challenging experience was participating in the Low back pain clinic as part of Ontario's Low Back Pain initiative. The clinic allowed her to grow and learn in depth about treating clients with multiple health conditions and chronic pain. Kiara is enthusiastic about working with diverse clients and helping them achieve their wellness goals. 
Amanda Adamo, RMT
Amanda graduated from Centennial College with an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and is also a member of the RMTAO. Prior to Massage Therapy, Amanda attained her HBSc in Health Sciences and Psychology from the University of Toronto. 
Amanda began working at Physio FX in 2017 as a Physiotherapy Assistant and Administrative Assistant. This led her to have a strong knowledge and understanding of the human body through a rehabilitative lens. Additionally, she has learned about the body through movement from years of dance training, performing, and teaching. 
She uses a hands-on approach in her treatments using Swedish Massage, Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Prenatal/Postnatal Massage, and Trigger Point Release. She will be completing training in Cupping Therapy in August 2023. With a vast knowledge and experience, you are in good hands with Amanda.


Dr. Michelle Liberty, BA. DC, FCCSS(C)
​Dr. Michelle Liberty has been a chiropractor for over 27 years helping thousands of people of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Her own experiences with back pain and chronic headaches as a teen and athlete led her to become a chiropractic patient during university. That experience changed her health and life in such a profound and positive way that she was inspired to become a Chiropractor. Her approach also encompasses issues of poor posture, disharmony in strength and flexibility, and abnormal or painful biomechanical function of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Liberty works closely with other health practitioners such as registered massage therapists, naturopaths, personal trainers and a hypnotherapist to ensure that all aspects of her patients’ health are being addressed. Dr. Liberty’s interests have also inspired her to achieve another chiropractic degree as a Sports Injury Specialist. Recently, in association with Complete Concussion Management™ Inc., she has further specialized in the prevention, assessment and treatment of concussions, both acute and chronic such as post concussion syndrome.

Dr. Ann-Merrie Leung, DC

Dr. Ann-Merrie (AM) Leung graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Her educational journey began at the University of Toronto, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance while playing competitive soccer. 
Dr. AM brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to her practice, with over 15 years of soccer coaching experience and a background in high level performing arts and sport. She is a firm advocate for patient-centred care, employing a diverse range of chiropractic techniques that go beyond symptom management. Her focus is on restoring function, enhancing mobility, optimizing biomechanics, and improving performance. Fluent in French and Cantonese, she takes pride in being able to effectively communicate with a wide range of patients. Dr. AM has further specialized in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of concussions with the Complete Concussion Management™️ Inc, and has completed additional training in Performing Arts Medicine. When she isn't in the clinic, you'll find Dr. AM coaching and playing soccer, hiking, snowboarding, and making music.

Shaina Leslie-Joachim, P.T. Assistant, Administrative Team Member
​Shaina has a bachelor's degree from York University’s Kinesiology & Health Science program. She is friendly, organized, self-motivated, and is eager to gain more knowledge and learn new skills to satisfy the needs of clientele. Shaina is a 3rd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and has 10 years of training and experience in the sport. She trained as a high performance athlete for many years and during that time continued on as an instructor and coach. She specializes in sparring and self-defense training as well as promoting strength & conditioning and injury prevention.

Rashmi Nair, P.T.
​Rashmi completed her Physiotherapy (B.PTh) degree in India. She worked in a multi-specialty hospital for 5 years treating a variety of complex conditions in the areas of Orthopedics, Neurology and Cardio-respiratory care. Upon coming to Canada Rashmi worked full time in Home Care in addition to working part time with Physio FX . Currently Rashmi continues to be an essential member while she also works full time in the Scarborough Health Network! Rashmi enjoys working closely with her clients to help them reach their goals. Rashmi sets a warm and genuine environment for her clients which helps lead to collaboration and success!
Kenann Brissett, Administrative Team 
​Kenann joined the Physio FX team in 2019, but she was a regular client long before becoming an essential part of our customers' experience! Kenann defines the meaning of team work. She has been playing competitive women's soccer for more than 10 years, she has 3 years of coaching and volunteering with competitive soccer and volleyball. Kenann holds a BA in Kinesiology and a BA diploma in Sports Management. Kenann has several years of retail experience and brings her customer service expertise to our Admin Team providing each customer with a warm smile, and professional experience.

Regina Soria, RMT
​Regina is a Sutherland-Chan School & teaching Clinic graduate, licensed with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since 2009. Regina also has a Physiotherapy background; she graduated in Lima-Peru at St. Marcos University in 1995. 
Her education is founded on an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, musculoskeletal and myofascial components. Regina loves working in the multidisciplinary environment along with Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Naturopathic Doctors and other Massage Therapists.
Regina started working as a Physiotherapist Assistant at Physio FX when she first arrived in Canada. After graduating Sutherland-Chan School, she began her Massage Therapy practice in 2009. Through the years of working as a Physiotherapist in Peru, Regina loved the hands on work with her clients and as a Registered Massage Therapist, she enjoys working one on one with them, determining the best technique and programs of care. Regina is fluent in Spanish and English and focusses in Therapeutic Massage.
Dr. Michael Paraskevopoulos, DC

Dr. Michael Paraskevopoulos (Mike) is an alumni of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) Class of 2023. Before that, he completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. 

He works with wide ranges of populations from youth athletes to elderly. Mike uses his background in anatomy, physiology and biomechanics to assess and treat a wide range of conditions involving muscles and joints. In his free time, Mike enjoys any type of physical activity including resistance training, running and golf. His emphasis on exercise also translates to his treatment style, where he encourages movement to resolve many forms of musculoskeletal injuries. 
Shaina is seeking to help better the well-being and health of clients by assisting healthcare professionals; in hopes of using that knowledge and skills attained and apply it to combat sports and martial arts. Her goal is to be a part of the change and evolution of sports medicine through exercise physiology and sport testing, to improve athletic performance.
Anjana Gyawali  PT Resident 
Anjana graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (Bangalore, India) with bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy (BPT). She has more than three years of clinical experience working as a Registered Physiotherapist in a multi-specialty hospital, rehabilitation center and community. She has worked with patients of all age groups and wide range of conditions related to the musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory systems. Currently, she is working as a part-time Resident Physiotherapist at Physio FX. She collaborates with each of the patients to plan and develop individually tailored treatment programs including exercise, manual therapy, and education to promote better recovery of the patients. 
Nicole Paraskevopoulos PT Assistant/ Admin Support Team
Nicole has joined our Physio FX team after graduating with her BHSc in Kinesiology from Ontario Technology University. Nicole is not a stranger to Physio FX she had been a client for many years while playing League 1 soccer. Nicole also played varsity soccer as a keeper throughout her degree completion. Nicole has 6 years as a personal trainer, working with varsity, semi-pro and pro athletes. She has experience volunteering at Grandview Children's Hospital and Coaching U4 soccer. Nicole has special interest in athletic performance, rehabilitation and injury prevention.
